Guys,
Started running leadcore this year, and started out with 2 rods. I have started fishing more on the Mississippi and Croix where each angler is allowed to have 2 lines. So that allows us to run 4 lines when it is my buddy and I. I only have the 2 leadcore rods, but was trying to think about what else I can run along side of my leadcore rods. Long lines Bottom bouncer 3-ways What do you guys supplement your leadcore trolling spread with? |

Why don't you run shorter rods off the transom with leadcore? I run 10'6 rods with leadcore on the outside and shorter 7'6 rods off the transom all with leadcore. Some guys like the 5' "shorty' rods but i prefer a little longer rod to fight the fish and absorb the shock when a fish runs. Also since I'm running all leadcore the program is simple to duplicate and the leadcore follows the boat path better than a long line.

You can run some sort of weight on boards alongside your 2 leadcore rods, or get two more leadcore reels and run two long and two short rods.
Trolling weights, 3 ways or bottom bouncers all get the job done.

I would skip bouncer lead core combo 3-way or snap weights are also option. Need to play with weight depending on speed. Easiest would be 4 lead core but you only have two to work with.

I run 4 lead cores on boards and 2 rods on dipsies. we are allowed 3 rods per man in Pa. starting this year. What we do is put 5 colors on some rods with mono backer. Run lead out clip on boards and run out where you want them. If you want more we set up 7 colors and 9 colors.
