I have a 2008 Ranger Trail Tandem axle trailer with the turbo lube cool hubs with the black center cap made by Tie Down Engineering. Does anyone know the part #'s for the bearings and triple lip seals to do a replacement and the best source to purchase them? I searched the archives and the part #'s given don't seem to match current inventory. I would like to source them from Northern Tool or a similar source since the Ranger pricing is ridiculous. Any info is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Best bet is to just call Ranger. Have your serial number and they should be able to look it up.
Also, I believe Northern tool carries most of the turbo lube parts (at least online) and you may be able to find what you need there too. |

I just went over my 2007 trailer and replace all the inner seals. I also had to replace one of the rubber plugs in the center cap. I didn't have to replace the bearings but I wanted a back-up set just in case. I ordered the parts from Ranger. Here are the part numbers:
L68149 - 1-3/8" Inner bearing L44649 - 1-1/16" Outer bearing 171255UC - Triple lip seal I ended up ordering additional seals online: http://www.theoempartsstore.com/prod...roductid=28262 The bearings should be easy to find online. *** You may want to confirm with Ranger that these parts work on a 2008 trailer. Hope this helps. Mike S. Last edited by mstrandquist; 06-28-2012 at 09:28 AM. |

Mike,
That's exactly what i was looking for! Thank you!! Now i just need to decide whether to rebuild the turbo lubes or change over to the new Vortex hubs as they seem to be the best of both worlds. Thanks again!

If it's any comfort, I just returned from a trip to Boulder Junction, WI. I live in Atlanta so that's 2200 miles round trip and I didn't have any problems with the trailer. Half of the driving was in +95 degree weather. At every stop I felt the hubs. The non-brake hubs were warm (not hot) to the touch and the brake hubs were a little more than warm to the touch, but nothing that alarmed me. I guess the Turbo-Lube hubs did their job.

I like the Turbo Lube hubs and how they perform its just keeping out the water that is frustrating to me.

Go wth the Vortex Hubs. There is a reason Ranger is going to these on all their trailers. I put them on my 05 620 and will never go back.
