Default ranger brakes

my 2011 f150 works when backing up my ranger trailer (2012) my dads 2010 f150 will not release the brakes. pain in the butt as the little thing you put in the slot is a POS!!! anyone mod this to work with all vehicles?

Need power (12vdc) to reversing lights on the truck/trailer recept. this will energize a solenoid releasing the brakes. Your truck is obviously working check your dad's, check here to see what kind he has, then check the voltage. http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx

yeah that is the funny thing is that they come one. that was the first thing i watched for. i know that that is what releases them.

could be a ground issue

do all of the trailer lights work when its hooked up to your dads vehicle?

If it works on your truck but not on his, then there is no power in reverse to the truck plug. Wiredog

just checked again. passenger side brake light not working either. think i need to check his plug on the truck.
