HDS freezes after shallow water alarm

In camp now. My HDS7 "freezes" after encountering very shallow water. This happens when using the downscan. The shallow water alarm is set to two feet in order to keep it from going off when at the dock area.

I have to go to the menu and keep trying different ranges then it will start working again.

Any suggestions as to what is happening?

Otherwise I really like the units.
