I will admit i did blow off the handle a little bit. But I just had a weekend fishing trip ended early because the seats broke. I was up on winnie when the seats broke which is 5 hours from where I live. I have talked to the guys at R&R and they will do all my work from now on.
This all being said, Lund may not make the seats or pedals but its still there job to quality control there vendors and maybe go with a different vendor. The guys at R&R said these seats are causing alot of problems, which if these are causing a lot of problems why doesnt Lund do something about it? Plus you can say i'm lying and just bashing Lund. This stuff has happened and i have a buddy that has a ranger that was thinking of getting a fiberglass lund and now after the problems i've been having he's thinking either another ranger or yar-craft. Plus you would get sick of your buddy giving you crap all the time about your boat. My buddy keeps saying "told you should of went with a ranger". I personally love the boat, the layout is great. But these problems can't keep happening to this boat. It is only three months old, I owned my previous Crestliner since 1999 and maybe had 5 problems with the boat over 12 years of hard use. I would like to thank the people that have helped and let me vent. I needed somewhere to vent before i blew up at lund and the dealership. I would like to thank the people that listened and didnt start acting like jerks. Thanks again for letting me vent and good luck fishing everyone. Last edited by Golden; 07-05-2012 at 10:51 AM. My 2002 Starcraft runs the Attwood 238 series pedestal system which I believe is the same as Lund uses. When I first bought my rig I noticed that in the rough the entire seat and pedestal felt a bit too flexible for my taste. As an easy fix I ordered some much shorter pedestal posts- 8 inch length vs something like 12 inches that came with the boat. I didn't like the adjustable drivers seat latching at all, so since I had ordered an extra seat without the adjustment I just swapped the non-adjustable seat into the drivers position. The shorter pedestal tubes and the non-adjustable seat base made the seat much less flexible, and so far, after 10 years I've had zero issues with the pedestals and the seats- which also look to be almost the same as what I've seen in Lunds. I left the bow casting pedestal with the long factory supplied tube since no one rides in that seat when the boat is running above trolling speed.
Worked for me.... Doug |

Tyler, Do you have any pictures of your broken seats? I have broken Attwood seats but has always been the seat backs when someone is leaning back like it is a recliner. THEY ARE NOT MEANT FOR THAT!!! I now inform anyone who persists on leaning back that if it breaks they replace it!! How big are your passengers? Most of mine are over 240. I believe the seats that are on the 2012 boats were a newer version (maybe in 2011 too??). I would guess you will see a change in 2013 if they are seeing many issues.

I tried to work with them when I talked to them at the St. Paul boat show this winter. I was not impressed with the salesman. Then I found a lightly used boat they had for sale as well. I looked at it and made a good offer on the overpriced boat. They said "no", and I walked away.
I was called sometimes 2 times a day asking if I'm still interested in the boat. I told them I'm interested in the boat at the price I offered. They called me again the next day, asking the same question. I asked them to never contact me again, and I'm no longer interested in the boat at any price as long as they have it. I haven't heard from them since and will no longer set look at a boat that dealer has for sale.

No I don't have pictures of the seats they have already been replaced. Needed to get back on the water asap. For someone claiming weight if these seats can't handle more then a 205lbs person they need to replace all these seat under recall for safety reasons. The heaviest person i have fished with is 205 pounds.

My Lund wouldn't catch any fish yesterday. What a POS. Do I call Lund or my dealer?

I read the first post of this thread again. The original poster has a right to be mad. The holy grail of boats (Lund) aluminum anyhow, should not have things busting like this on a new boat. The Lund name is not worth the extra money you are charged for it today. You can get equal quaity and a better value with other brands today.
