2013 620 Motor choices
Ok so got my pricing for a 620 with 3 motor choices. Now i know my pricing will change some because the 2013 pricing comes out july 9th from what i was told. Before i go and drop the mother load i thought i would ask the experts on here some pros and cons the way i am leaning. Now here are the 3 i got pricing on and I'm leaning about 99% to the new Yamaha Offshore 250. So give me some thoughts its hard to find info on the new Yamaha on this boat from my searches. And a good price difference in the 3 Yamaha being just under $6000 more than the XS and Verado being $1000 under the Yamaha. Thoughts.
1.)Yamaha Offshore 250 2.)Verado Pro 250 3.)Pro XS 250

Motor choices
Its certainly personal preference, the Yamaha motors have always been rock solid and would be a great choice. The ProXs is a great performer but does come with the noise factor. The Verado is heavy but super quiet and you need to make sure the tech is certified to work on them. The ProXs is the least money, and I'm sure the Yamaha is the most like you said. One thing to consider being in Wisconsin is SERVICE.......Depending on where you fish, their are not many Yammie service centers, if you fish where Im from in Northern Wisconsin, Merc is a better choice, also make sure your Merc or Yamaha service center has Master Techs that can fix your motor, not just parts exchange via a 800 #.....

All the 250hp motors on the market are good, it just depends on how you want the boat to perform. All the motors out there will push the boat around 60mph but for some reason that boat performs better with a lighter engine. I can't comment on the new Yamaha because there are not a lot of them on new walleye boats and for 6K more I can understand why. Sent you a PM

620/250 Offshore 4.2L
Hope this is value added. I had a 2010 620 with the 250 Verado and a Pro 9.9 kicker. Dislikes, heavy, poor hole shot, power steering drained the battery when pulling cranks, had to add a 5th battery which equalled more weight. Likes, good top end, very quiet. Had alot of issues with the fuel pumps/fuel system. I now have a 2012 620 Ranger with a Yamaha 4.2L 250 Digital Offshore and a Yamaha 9.9 kicker. All I can say at this point is good riddens to the Verado. I luv the Yamahas, this 250 is a work horse, strong through out the whole RPM range. Doesnt have the top end the Verado did, but I havent messed around to much with props yet. Hole shot and mid range is very snappy. The Yamaha is louder in the upper RPMs, but respectable at idle.

620 motor choice
Ordering out a new 620 today and made my motor choice, 250 HO Etec. I would never of guessed 2 months ago that I would be getting that engine. My reasoning, the weight of a 2-stroke, cost of a 2-stroke and sound level almost at 4-stroke level. Still have a problem with that darn blue color but I can live with it. The Rhinelander test ride sold me and right now 5 year warranty is the promotion. Test ride gave me a free boat cover and SS prop as well if I did something within 60 days of test ride.

I have not yet ordered. I am headed to Pamps on Wednesday next week to order. Only thing im still hung up on is 621 or 620. Hope i have a vision in my sleep the next few days to direct me. I will go jack plate on what ever one it ends up being.
