While there a certainly residential Eyes to be had out of NE now, the large schools of migratory eyes are not quite there yet. They are showing up out in front of Ashtabula and Conneaut Ohio now.

Don't get me wrong, you can/will get some nice fish, but the numbers may not be there like they will be soon ( July/August) I fish for Lakers in April/May and do pick some very nice eyes in the process.

Dipsy's, inlines, jets, they all work. look for marks and put it above them.

PS I understand the perch have been on fire over there so consider that as well.

Hope this helps

Things appear to be well ahead of schedule. I fished off the point last weekend [Presque Isle] and caught 6 nice walleyes. We caught ours in 68ft, alittle west of the point towards the condos.

Reef runner 800's with 2 oz snap weights caught all of our fish. The majority of the marks we saw in that area were down between 25-30 ft, with some scattered marks above and below. Tried harnesses, spoons, and stickbaits to no avail. Once the sun was up in the sky and the lake laid down the fish quit hitting.

I would imagine things up in North East aren't far behind.

They had a walleye tournament here in Erie PA last week and I read that the participants did very well. I believe the winning weight for a 9 fish bag was 77lbs or something ridiculous.

This was a report from Bucket's charters, excerpt from Fish Erie

"Report: Both boats killed another 61 walleye this past weekend. Best program consists of LC/Renosky's in CW, RT and Chameleon. Clean Reef Runners in Copperhead, Bare Naked and Chart. Wonderbread BN fishing well, too. Good numbers of fish can be found anywhere from 55-75fow. Check out our website for reports/pics of this past weekend's trips! -Buckets Charters Fishing Team"
