Default Ladder options for Starcraft 21 Ft Fishmaster

Well, we have a lot of nice beaches here on erie near buffalo. Absolute beetch to get back on the boat after a quick dip.

Port side has kicker. SB side has 3 transducers. Not sure where to put it.

Any ideas?

How bout one of those fold up portable ones? I had one before, and it worked quite well.

Put it on the starboard side.
Ladders stick out from the transom - by design.

There really should be no issue with a ladder on that side.

Many years ago, I used a portable ladder over the side for skiing with the kids. Although it worked all right, it was a pain to store. I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

However,
I believe that a ladder in this style should work very well for you mounted on the starboard side of the boat.

I have something like the one REW linked to.

But the 2 rung ladder is way too short for me. I am going to order one of these to bolt onto my platform. The ladder on my platform is bolted on and I am going to remove it and replace it with this. This is the best price I have found by far. My platform also had 2 handles instead of one, I would recommend that too. I have trim tabs and t/d's and its nowhere near them when in use

Portable fold up ones suck. Thats why the wife said we will never do that again. Next one will be a swim platform straight from the dealer. I wouldn't waste money on it.

Default Have you checked with a Starcraft dealer...

...as they seem to have boarding ladders readily available forall their boats now. I use a portable ladder for my Superfisherman and it's OK in an emergency but that's about all. I've noticed some are now running removable diver's ladders that lock into a bracket when needed. A 3-step version can be seen at

Default What is the purpose of the ladder?

I am in the process of mounting a ladder. I am 67 and overweight. If I fall in I would never be able to get back in on my own. I want a ladder permanently mounted for safety. I am going with a four step ladder because I need the bottom step about 30" into the water so I am not doubled up trying to pull all this in from that position. Just my 2 cents. Bob

Wow, lots of options. Thanks fellas. Will certainly check with Starcraft. But will look at these as well.
