Default Ranger trailer 7 wire flat plug

I have a 07 trailer with a 7 wire 5 prong plug on it, 4 males and one female. My problem is the right blinker male prong broke. I can't find the exact plug anywhere, haven't check with ranger yet. My question is has anyone wired up the same plug with less wires connected to it. This is not an adapter to the truck. I will have to cut the trailer wires and splice this plug to the preexisting harness. Any help is appreciated

if you have a Fleet Farm or similar nearby, here are the trailer-side plugs to look for http://www.hopkinstowingsolutions.co...s/5-wire-flat/

Keep in mind, you might have (2) brown wires coming from the trailer harness. These can be connected together, the harness might have a brown (running & tail light) wire running down each side.

as a side-note, I see that Ranger is doing what I did a couple of years ago, and just going to the round 7-pin RV "blade" plug on the trailer, eliminating the need for a 7-round to 4 or 5 flat adaptor. You might want to think about replacing the broken 5-flat with the 7-pin RV blade plug, which you can get at a LOT more stores. http://www.hopkinstowingsolutions.co...rs/7-rv-blade/

X10 on Hot Runs comment if you currently use a tow vehicle with a round plug.

Cut off the flat 5, and install the round 7 plug. Then, plug directly into your tow vehicle plug.

Otherwise, nearly any auto parts and hardware store carries the flat 5 male and female connectors.

thanks
I though that a 5 wire would work but wasn't sure enough

If you're not near a Fleet Farm, most auto stores carry the Hopkins connectors/adapters under their store brand.

Default Go to a 7 RV Blade

If your towing vehicle allows go to a 7 RV Blade plug as some have suggested, here is a link to the trailer plug wiring diagram. Ranger is doing this from the factory starting in 2013. You should be able to pick one of these up just about anywhere.

just a note to add to the post above. For some reason, the trailer side plugs have different color names for the positions. If you wire per location, and ignore the words on the plug, you'll get it right.
#1 is white (ground)
#3 is brown (running lights) NOT green
#5 is yellow (left turn) NOT red
#6 is green (right turn) NOT brown
#7 center pin is usually blue (back-up/reverse lights) NOT yellow
