I can speak to the quality of zagg shields. I have one on my phone that has gone thru **** and back. stills looks pretty good. although the glare is beyond bad. hopefully the fishfinder versions are not.

I have a zagg on my 958 bird. I also have one on the built in gps in my truck. Really like them both they are really tuff and easy to clean. Wiredog

Thumbs up

Get the zagg its by far the best!! I have had other brands but they suck compared to the zaggs. That said they did not have protectors that were cut to fit my screens so i had to buy larger and cut to size. No big deal and very easy. They were very halpfull in finding a size that would work and they were on sale for a very good price. They also send along a kit of liquid to use for the install. Wiredog

Another option is to have a cover made for the fish finder with a plexiglass front.

I have heard but cannot validate that some of these units use the screen as a heatsink and its not advised to use screen protectors on them.

Any truth to this?
