Curious... Which associations / sanctioning bodies require you to have your name visible on your outboard?

The only rules I have seen it in is AIM. May be other smaller clubs but not required in mwc or flw.

I think at one time the PWT required this but not sure. I think it helps make people more responsible as everyone knows who they are. Less likely to do something stupid.

Yes PWT did require your name on the motor. It helped identify a participant. There were times, complaints from locals that "such and such boat did this or that", and if the name was there it could be verified with the participant. Of course sometimes, the non-participants who did not like tournaments on "their lake", might make a complaint thinking it would stop tournaments coming.

They all should. There was a certain idiot pre-fishing the AIM tournament that thought everyone else launching and loading at the ramp should have 'bowed down' and moved out of his way because he was a 'big pro' fishing the 'big tournament'.

I'm pretty sure I see similar behaviors a LOT more often from everyday fishermen then JUST when the pro circuit brings a pile of easy money to your town...

Of course you do. They don't know any better. A 'seasoned pro' should know better, and represent the sport in a better light. They can keep the 'easy money'. I'd rather them not come here, , and take thousands of pounds of big females from 'my' lake.

So are these name decals provided by the organization or is it up to the fisherman to comply. Doesn't the P.A.A. or N.P.A.A. have this kind of a program?
I'm not too sure about "advertising" to the general public who I am. It's not like I'm going to be acting a fool, but the labeling isn't that appealing. Maybe next season I'll need "the decal". Maybe not. I guess it depends on the tourney, eh? Last edited by Juls; 07-21-2012 at 03:53 AM. |

At least thousands of pounds, maybe a little more. Is obvious that aimquick is well versed on tournament
angling. |
