Fishing here in western Minnesota remains good! Partners and I continue to boat walleyes on spinners and bottom bouncers on several smaller area lakes. However, the real hi-lite of recent fishing trips has been the bass action! I have been catching numbers of fish jig-worming the deep weedline in 10-16 feet, though the biggest fish have been caught pitching Jungle Jigs to heavy weed clumps on flats in 6-12 feet of water. Humminbird’s Side Imaging is a “game changer” when it comes to this fishing as it makes finding heavy weeds on flats very easy, as I simply cruise a flat “looking” to each side of the boat for weeds.
Another recommendation I have for anglers in the market for a new reel is to check out Lew’s products. I have been using their casting reels for over a year now and have been very, very impressed. The reels are light, durable, and great for casting baits a long distance. Recently, I have been using some of the new Lew’s spinning reels and my initial impressions are very favorable here as well. Until next week, good luck on the water! Fishin' With Frisch Pro Guide Service (218) 731-8141 mf4389533@gmail.com www.fishinwithfrisch.com |
