I'm no expert but I'd think it could get weird if things get a bit crazy and you've got reels on different sides. But this could be discussed the day before during preperations.
As far as just being net boys, I don't think that is case from what I experienced. In fact my co-anglers, Michael Bosch, JJ Scully, and Chris Augustyn were making decisions on who would run the rods and net since I was not confident doing either one. In fact, I recommended on day 3 that Chris do both but he didn't think that would be a good idea.

I'm a lefty, as stated, spinning reels are just a few seconds to deal with. Even being left handed, I reel baitcasters and linecounters the same "base" design as the others. I would think it would be good to go over this in the morning before the boats are realeased so things can be setup in advance instead of using limited fishing time to setup equipment. It's never been an issue for me, but I feel bad if I don't remember to switch them back at the end of the day so the Pro's rods are all setup the same way for his next day of fishing. I've seen some people that are on the edge of having a bad day in the morning, and when they grab the rod with the handle on the "wrong" side, it just pushes the day in a bad direction. It's hard to remember to switch them back. |

Right! And he's from NE and a master stick at running spinnerbaits. The stars were aligned!
