dogtooth lake canada

anyone been there? need some advise...I leave saturday for a week...I know it's a great trophy walleye lake??

I TOOK MY GIRLFRIEND THERE 2 YEARS AGO. THE FISHING WAS FAIR TO GOOD, BUT IT WAS HARD TO LOCATE FISH. IT SEAMED LIKE EVERYONE WAS FISHING IN THE SAME AREA. BUT WE HAD FUN AND THAT WAS HER FIRST TRIP UP TO CANADA, SHE LOVED IT! I HOPE THEY DON'T TRY TO PUT YOU IN THE CABIN ON TOP OF THE HILL WHERE YOU PARK YOUR BOAT TRAILER!!!!! IT SUCKS!! THEY HAD US IN THAT CABIN AND THERE WAS NO WAY WE WERE GOING TO STAY THERE. THEY DID MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS FOR US AND WE GOT A NICE PLACE AT THE OTHER END OF THEIR PROPERTY, ALMOST LIKE A MOTEL UNIT ONLY NICER. GOOD LUCK TIM

I know my luck, we'll be in the cabin at the top of the hill!!!!!!thanks for the report thou...is it a big lake? how close to the resort is most of the fishing typically?

Howdy: Pay close attention to the navigational hazards. Take it slow the first couple of days until you get the feel of the place. Many bays and arms. Lots of structure. Use your electronics to find mid-bay rock piles and humps. Two color jigs with short shanks, and rigs usually work well. Go to Kilvert Lake for sure. Lots of great scenery, wildlife. Rain gear and layers! Good Luck!

We stayed in a beautiful cabin at Dogtooth lake resort. the owners were very sweet and the kids really loved jumping off the boathouse into the water. like others we found the location of the fish hard to find-so maybe not the best place to fish if you don't know the area, but still would recommend the resort

Never fished it yet. Been going by it for 26 years. I fish Lake of the Woods. Been going to Smith Camps all that time. Check it out some time. Tell them Rod Bonham told you about this place. I am going to fish Dogtooth one of these days. I retired and spend about a month up there now. Good luck, Rod
