Arrow Dog-days of summer...

July/Aug usually spell the dog-days of summer.

The daytime water temps have peaked, the therm-o-cline in place, food sources maxed-out (easy belly stuffers) & if it floats it's on the water in the daytime (both weekdays & weekends/Vacations)...

So I'm out for the nite-bite usually after mid-nite to dawn ~ the good size Eyes & sUMos where I live find a fast break to to stay cool in the daytime, then the Eyes move up to get a easy/quick belly stuff when the lake is quite & cooler at night (your lure is still one in a million/shad, so I like to target I-candy locations at night (crawdad tank-toppers))...

Default Theory

My theory about the lockjaw phenomenon is that when the temperature goes up in summer the mouth and jaw tissues soften and become more sensitive making Walleye even more finicky than during cooler weather, plus the food supply is at the peak during the summer, making them more selective and less aggressive feeders. Again this is just my thinking on the subject. It is a fact, though that during the heat of summer the fishing gets tougher and some days you're better off playing golf

"WATER SKIING".....is a waste of trolling gas!

Hello: It's only an excuse for walleye fisherman that can't change their tactics to catch fish. Good Luck O - R

Can not be true I am a pure cajun and if eating crawfish made you loose your teeth. I would have had a full set of dentures at age 2
