Question Powerpro 40lb and boards

Currently I am running xt 10lb mono with church boards. My boards have or14 adjustables on the front and I put or16 clips on the back and super glued the Church pins closed. Works great for releasing the board so it drops back and clears the rest of my boards to bring fish in.
Problem I got is I am sick of mono, want stronger line to be able to retrieve stuck cranks and I started tying harnesses with 20lb xt for a little better stiffness and less tangles. Will 40 lb powerpro play well with my board setups or is it going to slip out of the or14 I have on the front???
Gonna be a big switch if I do it, 12 to 15 rods total, pricey if it doesn't work great line life and lure recovery if it does, what do you all think???

I don't run the Church boards but with the Off Shore boards I have the OR 18 releases on them and I run the 40 power pro with no issues. Just remember to wrap the line around the release before you snap it shut.

I would still like to be able to flick my wrist and pull the line out of the front clip to get the board to fall out of line with smaller fish that do not drop the board back on there own, does that make sense? keeps from having to clear 5 lines,

I use Church Boards and regular church adjustable clips with 50# Power Pro. Like mentioned I just loop it once and it doesn't slip and comes off fine.

Default Church Boards

I don't use Power Pro, but I use braids equivalent to the 10# XT PT dive-curves (.013", I think)... The braids I have are all 40# or 50#. I DON'T wrap the line in the clip and they still don't slip out, but I've tried smaller braid (30#), and it does slip out without the wrap.

I run the 20lb power pro...6lb diameter on church boards with no problems. I run the 40lb pp on my salmon gear also with no problems.

Default Braid for sure!

I agree with most guys here.

I use 40lb power pro hi-vis yellow, off shore snapper clips, and a rod length of 20lb Fluoro.

I never need to double-wrap the clips, even in 5ft Erie waves, just tighten them way down.

Highly suggest the hi-vis yellow line. It is very easy to see and follow out to your boards, and I've had mine for 2 years with no line fading or bleeding.

If you want an off shore board to fall back, put a large snap in place of rear clip, then set main clip light. Will definitely fall back.
