Question Muskie Innovations Flurocarban Leaders?

I got 6 Muskie Innovation Fluro leaders, 100 lb. I got 2 - 12", 2 - 18" and 2 36". They are not crimped but tied, anyone have any input before I start Trolling them and casting them. I've always used crimped leaders, Thanks guys!

I caught 2 muskies and many pike using the 18" 100lb fluorocarbon leader on LOTW on my last trip 3 weeks ago. Going back for a muskies only trip mid September. I have never had any problems with a Musky Inovations fluoro leader yet. (knock on wood) I have some titanium and steel leaders but have switched to fluoro 2 years ago. Not sure why I switched to fluoro.

The only problems I seem to have are keeping hooks sharp. Picking up a tackle box when the lid is not latched tight. Getting hooks tangled in nets and anchor lines... ETC...

I would get them out of the packages right away, and hang a lure or weight on them to straighten them out if they are curled in the package. I found they tend to foul in the hooks a lot when new, takes a few days for them to become straight. They are like springs and curl up and snag hooks.

I'm refering to floro leaders in general, I think mine are Musky Innovations Stealth? which are tied AND crimped. They come in a ziploc type bag and really have a curl to them. I also use VMC that are only crimped, but they come in a straight package.

Take this for what its worth, just what I've found.

Not sure they are needed when a lot of times your rod is buried right up to the reel and the fish is looking at you next to the boat, no need to be real invisible LOL. But it a confidence thing I guess.

Thanks, I think I'll soak them in water and hang a 6 oz. sinker on them.

Do you really think that having thick line is better than a thin stiff steel leader. myself I think not. At just $3 a pop. The steel will not be your weak link.

Default Fluoro with knots are great.

I make my own and so can you. I've caught lots of muskies on them.

i use stealth leaders because they are tied and crimped. But if i can only have one, i would chose tied over crimped anyday.
