Default georgian bay

Good evening,
I am camping at Awenda Provincial Park, and am hoping to fish the area of Georgian Bay from here. It is directly across from Giants Tomb, and Christian Island. I have never fished georgian bay, and am wondering if anyone has any idea on what the fishing is like in the area, and any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

I don't fish the Georgian Bay, we mostly fish Nipissing in Ontario, but will share what I have read. Obviously this is a huge body of water, so some area are protected and others are subject to big water conditions. Regardless of your boat you may will need to take conditions into consideration. Also there are areas loaded with rock reefs, so a good map or guide might be something to consider. Fishing can be very good, but, it's the old adage 90% of the fish are in 5% of the water, so again, studying a map or getting a guide might be something to consider. There are fair numbers of walleyes, lots of bass and huge musky. I suggest you visit the Ontario Fishing Network discussion board as you will get many responses relative to the specific areas you've listed by fishermen with 1st hand knowledge. Personally, I would fish it but definitely use caution due any new big body of water.

GB is gorgeous, you will enjoy the trip. I have fished on the eastern side, Moon River, Blackstone harbor, Key River and French River system to the north.

There is so much structure in GB it is mind blowing. Fishing can be spectacular to flat as a pancake. It is a challenge fishery to be sure. So go out. Find some struture and drop the lead down - see what happens. If you see good musky water - take some casts. Just fish man.

I live on the bay near there. What are you hoping to catch? There are lots of lakers, and some chinook up at that area, and you're a 20 minute ride from some bass and walleye, so let me know...I'll try to put you on fish.

PS: If you can, book a site in the "turtle" section at Awenda. It's the best spot.
