Ross Grothe Brings Home 4th Place at Escanaba
The weather... Once again, the weather reared its ugly head and totally affected the bite. There was a big front moving in and as quickly as it seemed to be moving it, it broke apart and didn't play as big of a role as we all thought it would have. In fact, it may have made the fishing better as the majority of the top ten anglers struggled the most today out of all three days.
Ross Grothe found four good fish that helped him claim the 4th place spot at Escanaba. The weather could have been better, but his bag was good enough. "Four is going to be my new lucky number. Its the 4th of August, today is my birthday and I'm 44, and I managed to take home the 4th place trophy. This was just a fun event and I am already looking forward to the Championship in October! Thanks for all the support from my team mates Jimmy Bell and Tommy Skarlis, but most of all from my wife and kids - I couldn't do it without you!"
Congrats Ross!
