FWIW, my gf's iphone 4s is a p.o.s. - she admits it and she is a big Apple fan. She loves my Android Nexus. It doesn't crash, the battery life is excellent, it just doesn't mess up. Her 4s always has some kind of issue popping up.

This is all "Ford vs Chevy"...

I have a Samsung Charge and much like Stevej I've had no issues. I'm careful what I load, and really use it as a tool, not a toy. My brother, mother, and step father all have Iphones. My brother test drove my droid for a bit and said he liked it and was impressed.

That said, whichever you go with, as a father and husband of a family that spends TONS of time outdoors camping/fishing/hunting/hiking/snowmobiling/4 wheeling/etc... it's invaluable to me just for the ability to monitor any weather situations. Everything else, such as email access and other internet needs is a nice thing to have that makes vacations less of a hassle. Actually, the ability to stay "connected" at times has allowed us to extend vacations at the last moment!! 15 minutes on the smartphone taking care of business and 2 extra days up north... yeah, worth every penny!

People keep talking about weather and radar, I have all of that also on my non-smart phone. It is not some kind of smart phone only thing. Oh yea I get email also, just not all the functionality of attachments and video, which most are for amusement purpose / time killers. Oh yea did I mention my cell bill is $32 per month total with tax and everything else.

I have made my preference known earlier in this thread. I don't think there is a perfect phone, operating system and or one that has a lock on perfect apps. Do your homework, make your choice and hope you made a good choice. If you happen to get a bad phone you should be able to get that dealt with by the seller. If you make a bad choice you are probably stuck with your decision.

Kind of like buying a car, boat or almost anything else.

I had a non smart phone too with internet before my iphone

It had weather radar

but the thing is on a smart phone the difference is like night and day. its so much easier to use and faster.

Unless you have used a radar app on a smartphone I would not expect you to understand

Default Samsung vs Iphone

Just wanted to see what all the previous posters have to say now that Samsung lost the lawsuit with Apple. I think this is bad for the consumer but this no doubt will have an impact on sales especially with the next Iphone or the 5 or whatever they are going to call it coming out soon. (Sept 12 if rumors are true)

I have a Samsung Mesmerize.. I need my phone for business, and the internet is kind of a toy in my application, but I do use it because I have it. With that said, I think my Android is a better browser than it is a phone.. If I had to rate it, Id say its 2/3s the phone my flip phone used to be..

With that said, and coming off a search and rescue mission. They can provide valuable gps data with a photograph.. We had 6 pictures taken within minutes of each other, that allowed us to literally pinpoint the search area..
