Has anyone mounted their HB unit on the dash of a 2006 Ranger 1850? There is not allot of room for the size of this unit. What mount did you use and if you can share any pictures that would be great. Any additional tips you could offer would be helpful too.

Mounted a 998 and a 858 on my Lund...not the brand you're looking for but if you are thinking about using a Ram mount get the 2.25". I just switched both of mine out from 1.5" mounts that would not hold up in a heavy chop.

Yep, get at least a 2" ball. I'll post pics tomorrow after work.

A buddy did it on his 619, so he ordered a new blank face plate to cover up the former bow builtin, and popped it on a RAM mount the 2nd time around.

I have an 1198 mounted at the console of my 2008 Angler 1860. I use the big ball, short arm RAM mount. Rock solid yet completely adjustable.

Thanks all for your suggestions.
Jason, do you think I can mount the HB 898 on the dash above the built in-dash Lowrance unit? I would like to continue using it if all all possible without removing it. Will the short arm ram mount give me enough adjustment to keep the HB from interfering with the steering wheel or from blocking the guages on the dash? Again, thanks foe everyone's help. |

I don't know. As you can see from the pics, I removed that dash unit and put an aluminum plate in its place. The RAM base is fixed to that metal plate for the ultimate in stability.
