Default HDS Worth Buying without Structure Scan?

Hello! HDS models are not cheap by any means. So, is buying one without the Structure scan option worth it? It will be a $700 unit for only sonar and chart plotting???

Thanks!

Andy

So you can get more than enough information from the sonar information to know what you are "seeing" on the bottom?

Yes, many times I won't use structure scan. Sometimes I want to know if something is a tree or rock and then I turn it on to find out. I would own them without it.

Structure scan only works well at slow speeds. I love my HDS and I don't have structure scan. It can always be added at a later time if you want it.

example- I was on the missouri river today and on my sonar I seen a glob on the river floor/ turned to the hd structure scan (down) and viewed the trees and the walleyes hanging inside of them/ you had to see it to believe it- 60 ft down and like you were watching it on tv. Nothing less than amaizing- I absolutely would buy it again.

Absolutely worth it. Buy the unit now and add the LSS-1 later on if u need to.

Even more exciting is StructureMap on the Gen2 units. Why believe someone else's map when you can build your own every time you drive your boat?
