Default head boat lake Erie ?

Wife is talking about going to Put In Bay next week. Were is a good place to stay in the Port Clinton area. I also would like to go fishing on a head boat . the Fisherman Wharf is out of Port Clinton. Are there any other head boats in the area. What boat would be best to go out on ? How is the fishing in the area now . Is the fishing any good this time of year ? My first choice would be Walleye then smallmouth and if nothing else perch. I would just like to go out on the boat I do not need to catch the biggest one in the lake just catch some fish. What are the head boats fishing for this time of year.

I was reading the reports and it has been stated that they are catching Walleye across the boarder . Does the head boat go across the boarder to fish ? would I need a passport ?

Thinks for the help and information.

You can find all the hotels here: www.lake-erie.com Call early as this is a tourist town and finding an opening might not be as easy as you think...especially on a weekend.

The Wharf has headboats, as does Drawbridge Marina, and Sassy Sals.

Don't know of too many that will go all the way to Canada as those boats eat a ton of gas and it would be too expensive. The Wharf is still running Walleye trips, and also have one of the boats over in Vermilion for the Perch bite over there.

There are still walleye and perch here by the islands too.

Smallies would be a trip to Pelee island area.

My clients got these on Tuesday before the blow (picture below)
I won't be back out until tomorrow though, so I can't tell you if this blow did anything to the bite or not yet.

p.s. No, you don't need a passport to fish on the Canadian side of Erie. You need a fishing lic./outdoors card and an ID like a Driver's Lic. or something that proves you are who you say you are.

If it was me, I would fish with Juls. She has the knowledge and the equipment to get you into the fish.

And I would much rather fish with a good Captain, then with a bunch of smelly, drunk, fat guys !

LOL..thanks.

But, in their defense, I don't know of any of them being smelly, drunk, or fat?

If they were drunk, they would lose their licenses.

Smelly is a possibility though.

Sorry I should clarify that statement: I did NOT mean the Captains. I was speaking of some of the customers !

I have had my share of them onboard that were all of the above. LOL

I have never met or heard of a Captain that would even think about drinking while they were working !
