Default Vavionics for Android Phones

Anybody using this? Cool tool, abd great when available, but what the heck. I purchase this thing for what ever it was $10 or $20 bucks for my first Android phone, it was sweet. Iupgrade my phone and could not download again, because they discontinued what I had and came out with a new version including Canada or something like that. Ok, I spent the money again purchasing the product again, because i thought it was worth it. After 7 months, I had to get a replacement phone. Gee yet again Navionics is not available again for the Android phone. Sent Navionics an e-mail, got no reply. Anybody else having this issue?

I did a Google search and came up with some good info

https://www.google.com/search?q=Navi...ient=firefox-a

Seems that the folks that made the app. have updated it and want folks to buy the new one.

And seeing there is a newer version, they have deleted the old files

I suggest you back it up with something like titanium or make an apk of the install with one of the many applications available, you may need to root
They did the SAME thing to me with the iOS version.
Yet i have a hard copy of the ipk so i can side-load reinstall.
I have read many of complaints of this somewhat under-handed upgrade extortion they have been doing for years

hmm

I bought it a few years ago for my i pod touch. That was long lost in the washing machine

Recently, I bought an iphone

I was able to go to my account on itunes and download it again, along with some other stuff I bought (music mostly) and put it on my new phone, no charge.

I would think it would be the same for Android, must not be

NOPE! my brother loses phones all the time, and usually most of the apps that he had bought are gone for good like he hadn't bought them, I had my iphone 4s crash and was able to get everything I have ever paid for back to the new one from itunes account.

With iOS many times you CAN restore the application ONLY if you synced apps within itunes, it will save a hard copy on that computer, or if you made your own copy after jail-breaking the phone
Once the app or a version of it has been pulled from itunes app store OR play store the only way to get it back is via a backup restore OR if you saved a hard copy somewhere

I just go to "purchased" or something on itunes and there is everything I have ever put on put on my devices.

the Navinonics app has to be 3-4 years old, when it first came out they were offering people on WC a free copy, thats where mine came from

its still there so I guess I did the right thing, I dont know. when I first downloaded it that was a few pc's ago. And I havent downloaded it for at least 2 years since I did not have a device it would work on until I got this new phone a few months ago...So it was not on my computer, its on my itunes account somewhere in cyberspace

I just checked, its called "download previous purchases" and there is a "not on this computer" button with other stuff I have bought. So there must be a server out there its saved on, not just my pc.

it must be because all the stuff us still available in the apps store I take it?

The original version of Navionics i am speaking of is the one i paid $9.99 back in 2009, It was then called NavionicsHMPNorth version 5.0.4
Then they decided to CHANGE the name to the SAME application and 100% pulled the original. Now the new version is called Navionics Marine & Lakes USA and its version number is 2.5.6

Things may have change with the integration of iCloud now and there may be copies of the apps there from our toys.

That reminds me, i need to upload a hard copy of this app for safekeeping

Mine is original too. Since I got it for free I dont know what it cost but it was cheap.

On Itunes, its just called "Lakes US East" its still there on my itunes anyway. I would have to look on the phone to get the version I suppose

Give this a shot

On your PC, go to Google Play and click on "My Android Apps" (top right)

https://play.google.com/store

It will then show you your devices and paid for Apps.

You can now find the App and click on INSTALL and send it to the device you want.
