Great fish... Looks like the big pig of a musky could make a nice meal of the walleye in the 1st pic...

If you don't mind sharing what did you catch the muskies on?

Totally addicted lol. Its funny because past fishing trips were all about hooking large Pike. Now they are seen by me more like a nuisance than anything else. I hooked a couple of huge Northern too but I just didnt really care about them at all lol. Muskie are so rare and beautiful. One hits and you raise it and see the greens and reds....so amazing and beautiful.

Awesome fish Randy! And to get them on topwater is even better! I bet you are already counting down the days until next year! Once you start fishing for muskies, pike become a nuissance lol.

Topwater is so exciting. I didnt want to bait anything else. I had one recall where two pike in a row broke water completely going after the bait. Its so awesome to see a 30+ inch fish come flying out of the water lol.

Even doing the figure 8, you see a fish come from under the boat and snatch your bait. Its pretty exciting. Def counting down the days

Default Lac Seul

After fishing Muskies for 42 years, Lac

seul is the bucket list lake for this year, Aug 20th to 28th.

Your 55 incher is a dandy, my biggest is 51 1/2", so you have set the bar pretty high.

By the way, the injury to yor fish looks like a prop gouge to me. Many times I have had muskies hit my prop at slow speeds. Looks like this one may have been gouged as it turned away. This behavior is more evident in low light conditions, but it can be capitolized on by trolling a Cowgirl in the prop wash about 8-10 feet behind the motor, ant time of day or night.

Full musky report upon my return.
