I have a lowrance lcx 27..how do I know if it needs a software update?

Go in to your unit and see what version you are running. Then google Lowrance updates and see if there is a newer version you can download. You will either need a computer with a SD card slot or you will need to buy a card reader to download the newer version. It is all really simple to do.

The latest software version for the LCX27 is: 2.5.0

To find out if you are running the latest:

Menu-Menu-System set-up-Software information. If you see 2.5.0 you are up to date

I have a 28c hd

I dont know what version its running, all I know is it works just fine

I wont update it unless there is a reason to

some of the updates dont have the greatest track record.

Great advice from Perchjerker. I own a communications company and always ask a customer that wants a software update if they are having any problems and if the answer is NO then i don't do it. Dont upgrade something thats is working well

    • Added sonar sharing over ethernet
    • Modified Data Storage functionality to properly display storage usage
