Foot pedal powered auto jigger?

OK here is an indication of how my eccentric mind works....
It July and I am thinking about ice fishing and building a better "mouse trap"

Where I am at minnows are not allowed so tip ups really dont work great here for walleye. Seems like the jigging rod in hand will out fish a dead rod 20-1.

We can use up to 6 rods here too. Over the years I have tried a lot of ways to have an automatic power driven "jigger" for my dead rod(s).
I have used the Windlass system and watch the wind rip it down the ice...
The little barbecue rotisary motors dont work bad but thee fragile and the batteries are heavy.

I was thinking today that some sort of foot pedal like the old fashioned sewing machines had would work if a guy could build one.

Keep it jigging while hands are free to concentrate on the rod in hand. Keep the foot warm and make that extra jigging spoon look so much more alive than a tip up.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing??

Never have, but if you build one, make sure to alternate legs, or you'll have one huge leg and one toothpick by the end of winter.

I have jigged with a spoon/minnow head in one hole, with a jigging rap deadsticked in the next hole on my left. When I mark a fish, I grab the other rod and jig with both. Sometimes, aggressive fish will dart in and whack the spoon before you can grab the other rod, but if they hit the spoon it's not really a problem.

a bass drum pedal should be just what your looking
for, should be able to jig 8 to 10 inches with 1 beat.....
you can buy a cheap one on-line at "guiter center"

I'm actually picturing a setup that held two rods with the butts facing each other so when one rod was up the other would be down, thus jigging two rods at once instead of just one.
