Hey guys, I just purchased an ambassadeur 6500 c3 and know I need a rod to pair it up with. I'm going to put on 20lb fireline. I bought it for fishing cats and northern pike off shore. I have a spare 6'6" rhino med-heavy rod. I was looking for something longer. Any info would be great.

A 7-foot Ugly Stik would be a good choice. Another possibility would be to punch "telescoping trolling rod" into Google and look through the choices. I'm a big fan of 8-foot-plus rods that telescope--generally moderately priced and easy to transport without taking everything apart.
