Default Update on my nuts....

Spoke with Minn Kota today after sending a few pictures. The gentleman said I could drop it off at the nearest repair place and have the lower unit swapped out. Because it is working perfectly right now, he suggested I continue to use it and if I have any problems or get sick of seeing those rust spots, to take it in and have a new lower unit put on sometime within my two year warranty time frame.

A common misunderstanding, stainless is corrosion resistant, not rust-proof.

Thumbs down

This is a common issue...mine was brand new and the nut and washer rusted after the 1st time out. I changed it with a spair I had from a back up prop. I could not believe they did not use a stainless nut and washer. Some grades of stainless will rust but this was not stainless. Pretty cheap for such an expensive unit.
