g3 is the best built aluminum out there, short of the tanks(habercraft, alumaweld, etc). It is also the heaviest, ergo maxing out HP rating is a must.. Somebody ought to explain paint design and graphics to them though!...lol..............but if i was gonna pay what they asked for a dressed 175fs with 150 yammie..just as easy to geta ranger angler, triton fishhunter, skeeter 1850, yarcraft or a tuffy........................

I just got my 3rd G3 last Friday. Was leaning heavily towards getting a Lund this time - I've never had a Lund. My Wife kept saying though, "you know how much you liked your G3's and Yamaha's." I decided she was right - that I would perhaps be wise going with a boat I know has good customer suport, and, a dealer relatively close by who also has a good reputation. And too, my last two G3's sold in a heart beat.

Not sure customer support is a big deal. On my last 170T I had a plumbing issue. It went back to the factory and was returned within 3 weeks - fixed. Ended up being a minor issue but the dealer and G3 wanted it back to fix. First V170T didn't need anything but gas.

The Yamaha's (a 50 and a 60 tiller Four stroke) were flawless. This new boat (2013 V177T Outfitter) has a 60hp with a 5 year warranty. That's something to feel pretty conmfortable with.

I agree with the statement about their graphics (little splashy on some of their models for me), and they are heavy built (which I like for the Mississippi which is my home water). I don't agree with their reputation as being a 'wet' ride - mine have been good in some rough waters.

I like em.

There is no doubt that a maxed out G3 can be pricey but it is up to the individual, as in my case, to negotiate the very best deal and extras with their purchase. Never pay what the dealer is asking from any boat manufacturer.

I have some experience with the 18' G3. I would definitely go for a ride before I buy if I were you.

As far as them being just as good or better than a Lund... I am not a Lund proponent and never have been but that hasn't been my experience.

If you looking to resell the boat buy a Lund . If you want one of the best buy the G3.
Most people are hung up on a name.
I just bought a new Starweld that has so far impressed me.
I sold my Lund for good money, I think I might miss that at resale time but the boat is great and could have the Lund name on it for all I know but it Says Starweld.
G3 is a great boat from what I`ve seen.
Yar Craft could very well best a Ranger but whats a name?

Was that before or after the complete hull redesign for their deep-v models for 2010 and up?
