No latch? Unbelievable. Ship and let dealer fix it? Really? Having worked for a major auto company, that's absurd.

Did you get your truck with no door handle, so the dealer could install it later? No. That's just poor quality control and poor inventory management.

Typical of old school US companies.....They'll learn the hard way....

You are wrong. If this guy ordered his boat, and says he wants his boat by friday, do you keep the boat because of that latch, or ship it out missing that latch?

I worked in the industry for 10 years. You ship it out. A marina is MORE than equipped to handle something like this. They install it, and bill the boat builder. The retail customer gets a complete boat, and knows no difference.

And this is FAR from old school US companies. Lean management policies are those adopted from Toyota. They cut costs big time, but one of the side effects is inventory problems. In this economy everyone of these boat companies will be running as lean as possible, less people, less labor costs, and less inventory.

Sorry, don't buy that one bit. If he ordered the boat, it should have the latch. Period. If he bought it off the floor, shame on the dealer.

Good management means controlling your suppliers and inventory tightly, not shipping out a vehicle without a latch, door handle, wheel or whatever.

Yes, we learned that from the Japanese, who by the way, learned it from a man named Demming who was from the good ole USA.

Not sure when you worked for them, but that mentality just about sank our auto industry. That's the bad thing about history, those that don't study it are ****ed to repeat it.

It was the only item I felt that was grossly overpriced (l bought em anyways). And really even though I have things cargo netted alot there is so much storage on this boat that I could find another spot to store those items.

Just finally had a good look at the boat and started to do some rigging. Lund put the wrong transducer on for my 1198 so I had to re-rig the entire thing. They also sent the 1 1/2 inch ram mount that doesn't cut it so I will have to go and buy the 2" (I asked them to run everything but not mount it to the dash as I was particular with my placement. When I lifted one of the seats a screw landed on the seat from the crease in the seat. I could see where it fell out of but may have to take the seat apart to put it back in.

Very strange indeed, I don't even know how they had the wrong transducer. It was the tiny one but the correct large one was sitting in the box still.

Again, my dealer has been outstanding. Westside in Grand forks, dealt with Steve and he is nothing but a class act not too mention the best pricing around.

How do you folks secure the Net to the boat? Putting a hole with screw on the side of the Explorer isn't something I like. Are you using the SportTrack Brackets or something I am missing here?
