Try calling Bass Pro in Springfield Mo. They'll be able to tell you what parts they have on hand.

Another option would be to try some local repair shops. Nicks rod and reel in Davenport Iowa services all makes and may have parts. I'm aware of another shop in Des Moines but don't have the name. You can also try buying reels for parts on ebay! I'm sure there are more businesses in states with more water than Iowa. You just have to do some exploring....

Well I guess I will have to follow the advice to find a local shop. Shimano cannot fix my 2500 FH either.

I will probably forgo and try an alternate brand out as its replacement.

Give these folks a call!! Or,,,,,,,,,,,, if you know your parts etc, check their online reel schematics and if they've got the parts, just order them by phone and CC, or call'em up and order! They have very fast turnaround on reel repair and carry a pretty extensive inventory, so it can't hurt to check with them before buying replacement reels!!

I sent in 5 reels for service, 3 of them also needed repair to Viking Rod and Reel Repair in Nisswa, MN. Golden had a post earlier about his good experience with them.

@ 8 days later I received a package in the mail. They fixed the 3 reels, serviced them, and serviced the other 3 all for the service charge - $12.00 each + shipping - $72.00.

I have not used them all yet, but so far, so good.

I had a Scheels brand Daiwa LC reel that needed a cover put on the linecounter, and service.
The other 5 were all flipping switch baitcasting reels - all of them older than the hills. One had the plastic thumb bar that had broken, another was reeling very hard when any weight was on the line - just the bottom bouncer took 2 hands to reel. Since they were all 4 the same vintage, 2 different models, I sent the 2 that had nothing broken in for service too.

I was going to call them so I could give them a credit card number to pay for the work a week after mailing them. I came home from work that day and they were in my mail all the work was done, with an invoice in the box.

Kinda nice to do business with a place with trusting values, I sent my check to them that night.

I was on Shimano's website. I couldn't find anywhere to buy parts from. I need a bail wire for a Stradice 2500 FI...... What's the deal with the parts. I may send the reel out to Viking. A lot cheaper than Shimano, and less shipping too.
