Miami Vice

Being a Yamaha owner I don't disagree that the 150 is a solid motor , but the topic is Mercury Four stroke vs Evinrude E-Tec. REW was talking about all of their motors.........

PJM,
Certainly I read the topic of Merc vs. Etec.
I was suggesting that perhaps another option should be explored.

But as others have suggested, nearly all of the outboards being manufactured today are pretty good and represent a good value for the $$ spent.

Sure Merc can be fine. But also Etec can be fine.
As can be Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu and other manufacturers.

Good luck and enjoy your purchase.

REW

out of those 2 motors, i would have to say Merc. I am not a fan of merc or Etec to be honest. I know this doesn't matter, but i am an avid snowmobilier and have seen way to many ski-doo's blow up. Bomby seems to run their motors on the edge all the time. I know it doesn't relate but its the same company. I have a 50 merc on my pontoon that i HATE! but thats another story.
