Default Big Mac Slabbing

Is the slabbing presentation working well at Big Mac yet?

What is usually the best time to hit that lake in the fall for slabbing?

Default slabbing at the lake. . .

Slabbing, in this case, is vertical jigging with a particular type of spoon -- usually 1/2- to 2-oz. -- that is fished, most often, without bait.

I'm not sure whether this would have worked at the frat house or not?

Default October, most likely. . .

It might work now, but I believe that, as the water cools in October, the technique becomes even more productive.

A couple years ago fishermen were slabbing some nice 'eyes out of both McConaughy and Harlan in November.

More than likely the "spoon" is made of lead and thus slab seems more appropriate.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-13-01 AT 04:57PM (CST)[p]Actually folks, Eric meant SLAPPING. See, he grew up in Nowhere, Colorado where they teach the two fingered typing commonly referred to as "hunt and peck".

According to Eric,(he told me this story while under the infuence although he never inhaled) slapping is how his family greets one another. In fact, his ancestors (formerly known as the McCoys) used to greet neighbors with this same technique. Next time you watch the Three Stooges, watch Larry, Eric's technique is very similar.

... and now you know... the rest of the story

Eric,
We got 3 over the weekend in about 35' of water. Few and far in between. Tried several depth ranges and several areas but not much luck. Slabbed up some small channel cats and quite a few 6-7 inch walleye. Gives hope that we will see a good year class from this year a few years down the road.
