Was on Clear Lake today, Wednesday May 31. Had my niece Makenna(6), nephew Sam(10), and their grandfather with. Fished from about 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. That's about as long as Makenna can stay in a boat.
Walleyes and yellow bass were going pretty good. Dragged Baitfish-Image spinners/crawlers and stand-up Fireball jigs with fatheads. Walleyes were 15 inches, yellows 8-10 inches, Sam had a musky on a jig but it broke off near the boat. Not too big, but it would have been his first. Perfect day for fishing, warm but not hot with nice breeze, just right for drifting. Today is the last day Dome Bait is open. Will miss having a baitshop that close to the landing on the west side. If anyone hears of something opening up close by MacIntosh State Park, hope you will post here. Best Fishes, Bob Jensen |

Lake Sport Shop is open again on east shore, now called South Shore Bait. There is a building near the Other Place restaurant on Hwy. 18 that is supposedly buying all of Dome's minnow tanks and supplies for a bait shop. Don't know the name of it though?

Bob's Dad stopped by our shop yesterday and said a new bait shop opened June 1 in Ventura. The sheet he brought said it's on Hwy 18 right across from the water tower in Ventura and apparently called "The Bait Shop"...
