I have some of these; I had one split in half when I made a bad cast and hit a cliff face. It is made of some type of dense white foam, definitely not wood, and the foam is unaffected by water. Perhaps it was originally manufactured from wood but I have never seen one of those.I was told that it was originally called a Teddy Bait then later a Lindy Big Jerk. I don't know if that is true.
Hope this helps.

I would vote for Ted Capra's involvement on this too. That seems to be the way I remember it. Um I will bet $2...I think that is where the name came from and basically it is a coppie of the eddie more or less

Shortly after I started this thread a few weeks ago I found an email address for the Lindy Little Joe company and asked them for information on the Teddy jerkbait. Those that posted and viewed this thread might be interested in the following reply which I received just a few minutes ago:

Thank you for your inquiry. The original Teddy Bait was made from solid maple wood about 20 years ago. Later it was manufactured using controlled urethane as the replacement for maple.

The urethane, being cellular in nature, occasionally would contain air
pockets which caused the lure to break at that weakened area. As a result of this situation, the Teddy Bait was discontinued from our product line approximately 8 years ago.

We are pleased that you possess a good bait and were able to enjoy the
experience of this terrific Musky!!

Anybody have a picture of this bait I could see? Maybe I can duplicate it. I work with Maple all the time on my jerkbaits. If its that good I'd like to try.
