How many of you use a GPS for Muskie fishing. What do you mainly rely on it for?-Underwater structure, trolling weed lines ect. Would you say it has made a big difference? I am looking into buying one.
Thanks J- |

There is no doubt I use mine at night. Being that I run on lakes that have some large points and reefs in the middle, knowing where they are at is definitely a plus for getting around without getting struck.
I have also found it nice for making trolling passes, since you can use the track mode to follow the same exact path you have used before. you can also use this for casting as well. When you are done, it gives you a really nice layout of the structure at a certain depth, which can help pinpoint the spot on a spot. Foggy conditions? AWESOME YOu make a trip to new waters? You'll be amazed how often you use it, I turn it on at the launch and use it all day even on small water. Trolling speed, marking a big fish without throwing a marker buoy are a couple to add to the reasons mentioned above. Worth mentioning again is FOG.
