Hi folks,
This season I will be getting my feet wet in tournaments. I have been with Walleye Central for several years & have just decided it it time to get into competition. I am scheduled in 8 events. My question is, where do I begin seeking sponsorship with a few of the companies that I belive in? What will they expect of me & what should I expect of them? How do i approach them? Thanks Jim Hall aka Driftr NPAA #611 |

Hey Jim,
Within the fishing industry related companies, monetary sponsorships are almost impossible. Discount programs or promo/no charge product is there in a limited fashion. As with any sponsor program, you need to offer exposure for the product through various venues such as media, publicly attended events that you participate in as well as being available for company needs such as product evaluation. You need to impact the image and sales of the company in a positive fashion. Truthfully, I would look outside the industry for support. You are simply selling 'advertising' in a sense. NO sponsorship is "free". Good luck!
