The Bowl area is currently holding HUGE amounts of bait fish near shore . Is there a pattern to catching these well fed eyes? Do you need to trigger an aggressive strike? I assume working the deeper water I'll see less bait fish, and less number of eyes, but would those eyes be hungrier??

You hit on a problem I think we here on Saginaw Bay had most of last summer. Baitfish everywhere, good marks high and low, but few if any takers. Let's face it, you can only eat so much Turkey before pushing yourself away from the table. And with the food source there for the taking anytime they want it, it could get tough. I would at least try to zero in on the fish you perseve as aggressivley feeding. For us a few weeks ago it was the ones higher in the water column. I wouldn't try a fast troll trigger bite, with the water coling off daily I don't see them wasiting their time and energy chasing anything. You may need to fish during peak times, which may be hard to determine I'm afraid. Night time might be an option if viable to you. Otherswise, mix it up and good luck. |

Thanx for the advice CaptDan, I tried the night bite last night with no success. Admitted to myself that I can't relax and enjoy fishing at night in late November.
I'll be working em sunrise to sunset the next few days. GR |
