Default Power trim ?

Bought a 2012 Mercury 90 four stroke last fall, took boat out to wash'n'wax it. Started the engine and when i trim it up or down, the engine's rpm's go down. Seems like it wants to stall. This is my first Merc, is this normal?

The electrical draw is probably putting a little more load on the engine through the alternator. I wouldn't think it would affect it much unless your battery connections were loose or dirty.

Hope you had muffs on it or you need a new water pump now.

Yup have muffs on for sure. Battery connections all clean and tight. Maybe bad trim motor, drawing too much current. I willl contact my dealer tomorow, still under warranty

My Opti does the same at idle speed the trim just pulls some serious amps which kicks the altenator up which causes the RPM to lower.
