Default Huron night bite

Haven't pulled my boat yet cuz I know Indian summer is coming.
I've heard about the "night bite" and would like to know more.
Best times? Closer to shore? Presentation? I really want to give night fishing a try, when the weather conditions allow.

Large Blue/Silver and Clown Huskys have always produced in the fall for us. 12'-26' of water and trolling under 1.5mph and even under 1.0 at times when the water gets even colder. Most of the time you can catch eyes between 6:00PM and Midnight but one night it may start at 6:00 and the next night at 9:00....Around the mouth of the Huron River should be good again now that the light house is lit up. However, in that area stay far enough away from the shore fisherman and always keep your eyes peeled for those out in boats with little or no lighting!
You won't regret leaving your boat in....GOOD LUCK

P.S. if you just want a lot of action, go to the mouth of the Vermilion river, in 12 to 25 foot of water, and run a bright colored ripstick at about 6 foot down, and a very loose drag. the steeleies are a ball.
