go the week that it doesn't rain for 5 days in a row and the lake doesn't rise a couple feet, that's what it did last time i went to Bucksaw in the end of April, we still caught a few fish but nothing great

My very best crappie fishing day for quantity at Truman
was the first week in May. It had been stable and warm for
about a week and they were in less than 2' of water.
Never moved the boat and finally got tired of catching fish
(hard to believe but I lost count).
Of course the limit at Truman is 15 so it was mostly catch and release for me.

Lots of camp sites; nice ones. I camp there sometimes. It's a Corps lake but the camp sites are on the water. They have marinas, nice boat ramps, electricity, water, etc.
You need a map of the area that shows all the camping areas since there are quite a few.
My favorites are Long Shoals and Truman State Park; both are fairly near the dam by water and near Warsaw.
You'll need to search a little on the internet to make reservations; I don't remember if it is administered by the Dept. of conservation or dept of natural resources.
Up to Memorial Day though you should not have any problems getting a site even if you don't have a reservation.
