IMO The classic mod 99 should be in 250 or 300 Savage. Nice rifles and everyone I know with one loves it. I'd like to find one in 300 Savage myself for a decent price.

I shot my first mule deer in Montana using a .300 Savage. 45 years ago. Nice gun and caliber.

I have a model 99C, love this gun, hate buying shells (.358 Winchester, and I don't reload.

Default Madel 99 Savage

I have a 99F made in 1952 (358win) and a 99EG made in 1946 (300 Sav.) I usually take each of them for a walk during deer season here in Wisconsin. Have killed many deer with both of them over the years and hope to do it again in a couple of weeks!! My go to rifle is that 358win, it knocks the on their a$$es.

Thanks,
Deer was shot in Orangeville, south of Attica NY.
I use to hunt in Gold, Ceres, Odin, Eldred, and Duke Center Pa a lot back in the 80's and 90's.

Deer below were shot in Duke Center by my wife and I about 1990 or so...
