The area near No-See-Um Creek, off the Ford River can in the channel, and reefs such as Minneapolis Shoal and Corona Shoal would be high on my list. If you fish at night try above the weeds with floating stickbaits on the far north end off Kipling.

We went over thanksgiving three years ina row in the early 2000s. We had a hard time finding fish, but in the first year we found the tiniest of ledges in 29ft of water with a drop down to 30-31ft. Every time we drifted over it with our jigs we hit a 6lber(walleye). Next two year3 the same thing. If it wasn't for that ledge not sure we would have caught anything.

I am very familiar with LBDN and the surrounding waters and my best catch rate has occurred at night. Not saying you can't catch them during the day, it just seems its more of a night bite since the water has cleared up due to zebra mussels. If you are going to give LBDN a shot at night, I strongly suggest scouting the area during the day first as there are some hazards out there, especially at the head of the bay. Hope this helps and good luck!

Populations were also severely depleted by several years off illegal netting through late ice (pre spawn) There has been a concerted stocking effort the past few years and its slowly starting come back...Just dont want you to expect the incredible fishery we had before that...
You wont have much competition out there this time of year as in the past...Good Luck!

Tell us how you did...
