Default clam

might be kinda late well the sale on clam "nanook" just started so i bought one and got it all put together today and i like it but my buddys is not a clam but still a flip over and has braces for the top and back mine just has one for the back i think his has 4 makes it tight.. so my question i guess is how well does the clam nanook do in the wind. Thanks guys

I may be wrong here as I don't have a nanook (but do have two clam flip-overs), but I think the "brace" you are referring to is just the adjustable pole that can hold the back up.

You don't need that for normal fishing...the pole is just used if you don't want to flip it all the way over, but still want the back raised up for a wind block.

It is also handy to use if you want to drag the sled behind atv or truck without collapsing...put the pole in and it keeps the fabric up off the ice so it doesn't get beat up when dragging.

I you would like them, you can get clips from most clam dealers and cut pipe and make your own.
