Default AIM® Announced Can-Am Invitational Tournament is FULL.

AIM® Announced Can-Am Invitational Tournament is FULL.

Plymouth, WI – November 11, 2011

AIM announced today that the field of competing anglers is full and the teams are set for the 2012 Can-Am Invitational Tournament, hosted by Bay Mills Resort & Casinos. Thirty one American Pro Walleye Anglers, led by Co-captains, Brett King and Mark Martin will fish against a team of 31 Canadian Pro Walleye Anglers, led by Co-captains John Butts and Joe Giuliani. AIM’s exclusive, Catch, Record and Release format will protect the fish and preserve the fishery for this artificial bait only tournament. The Pro Anglers from both America and Canada will be randomly paired with the Co-Angler from either country.

The Bay Mills Can-Am Invitational will be held on May 31 - June 2, 2012. Three unique features will be incorporated into the tournament. First, each of the 62 Pro Anglers will receive $300 from Bay Mills Resort & Casinos at registration - before the tournament even begins - totaling $18,600. Second, the Can-AM Pro Anglers will also be competing for Team Bonuses. Each Pro Angler will be competing as a member of an American or Canadian Team with each Pro's C-R-R weight being added to their respective team's weight. The Team with the highest total C-R-R weight will each receive a $250 bonus - that is another $7,750. Third, because of Bay Mills Resort & Casinos' sponsorship, the complete cash prize and bonus payouts will make the Bay Mills Can-Am Invitational the most lucrative walleye tournament in 2012.
Bay Mills Resort & Casinos is located in Brimley, Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior. From the resort's boat launch anglers have access to Lake Superior, the Saint Mary's River system, plus downstream from the international locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. For more information about all the facilities and special events at Bay Mills Resort & Casinos, please visit their website (www.4baymills.com). A complete 2012 schedule of tournament events will be announced in the near future. Please visit www.aimfishing.com for updates.

Default Usa

Can't wait, lookin foreward to 9 days of walleye fun at the Bay Mills Resort & Casino. I predict a lot of smack talk between USA and the guys from the north. BTW Canada, it's an open water tournament, leave your ice augers at home Eh.

Did they forget a sentence? What is the complete cash prize amount making it the presumed, most lucrative?

Wondering why it can't be mentioned if the field is already full?

Default Good point

Good Point Juls, I guess I was too busy to notice that wasn't on there.
1st place is a $40,000 CASH mountain on a silver platter. Other than the $300 we receive at registration I don't know the rest of the pay breakdown. I'll see if I can get that info.
Hope you'll be rootin for us

Default Very Nice

Is there a list of the competitors?

Also, any buzz about the 2012 AIM regular season schedule? Will they be producing a TV show this year?

Very exciting stuff.

Default We Will See

Claiming to be the most "Lucrative" is one thing. Being the most Lucrative event is another. Do we hear a horn being blown?

To me "most lucrative tournament of 2012" would have to be on the high side of $70,000. I picked that number because that is what the FLW paid last year and I have to imagine it will be right around that this year as well.

From my view point the Cabela's NTC is the most lucrative.... If your willing to allow the MWC part of the duo tournaments into the conversation and your Ranger Cup qualified I believe the payout was close to 175,000..... Even if you just go with winning 1 Ranger boat and the NTC portion isn't that good for around 80,000.... So as for being the biggest pie to get your hands on I think AIM is reaching.... But that is still being dynamic and bringing new and/or different things to the walleye world which is awesome... I hope they keep bringing their A game cause it can only help the industry...

Scott your a funny guy!! Regardless of all the negative comments, not Scott that was funny Scott, just everyone else, this will be one great fun event that all the Anglers will appreciate being part of. I know the Canadians are excited to represent their Country as I am sure the Americans are.

It will be a great event with a great payout due to the great sponsorship from the Bay Mills Casino.

Can you tell I like the word "GREAT"
