Default 2001 135hp ficht ram injection

Anybody know much about this motor? i read thru the thread posted early about another ficht and feel reassured that it is a decent motor. I did talk to mechanic(merc mech.) and claimed that when they put these pins in them it knocked the hp down to around 100 from 135...any truth to that? I am curious bout how well it idles for trolling and if the injection does away with getn smoked out. Any insight would be appreciated.

thanks
ryan

The 135 is a good strong motor that runs almost the same speed as the 150. Whoever told you about the pins lowering horsepower on a 135 is grossly misinformed.

Now that the motor is 8 years old, have a trained person check it out completely and give you a printout of the engine computer report.

Most motors never have the exhaust sensor taken out and cleaned or replaced. That motor also uses 3 thermostats and has a pressure relief valve that should be inspected. Make sure those items are checked/replaced when buying the motor, the water pump too.

Default good motor

I have had one since new and I feel that it is superior to any carb engine they ever made. smokes very little, not bad on gas and very dependable.
