Default call a spade a spade

There are things the MWC needs to work on.... I have fished the SV tournament for over ten years and have never seen the kind of back up as I did last weekend. I seen 200 plus boat field run more smoothly than that. Its uncalled for and theres not reason to have anglers waiting in the water for hours trying to keep fish alive. The other issue they need to step up to the plate on is cell phone use during tournament hours. I dont care if the team is in the top 10 or bottom 10 rules are rules no cell phone are to be used. If a team is turned in they should be looked into no ifs ands or buts! What good is the rule if you dont inforce it. Im glad to see the numbers going up for the MWC tournaments and enjoy fishing these events but dont wreck it cause you neglect to adress the issues.

We all know going what each events rules are, it really isnt that hard to run an event like Spring Valley. The walleye club does all the hard work!

A BIG thanks to them for all the hard work those people put in!
I agree. As a spectator who brings kids with him to weigh-ins occasionally, there is nothing more frustrating or boring than a looonnnngggg drawn out weigh-in. A gap in the flights would be the perfect time to get out the kid giveaways and do the sponsor thing to break the monotony and get the kids and spectators attention again. If walleye tournament fishing ever wants to grow and attract new competitors, you can't make the weigh-ins a boring burden on the spectators, whom I haven't seen much mention of in this thread.

Wow! That's it for 154 teams? Then divide each place by two? That does surprise me. I really like the MWC concept, but you can't drive far for those payouts.

The entry fee is only $650 per team x 154 teams = $100,100 x 80% payout = $80,080.

There is talk every year about possibly spreading the payout thru the field a little more but more guys wanted it top heavy then wanted it more evenly distributed.

My vote would be for taking some money out of 1st place and distributing on down. I think that is too big of gap between 1st and 2nd; $20,100 to $8,400.

Default 10%

I would not reduce the first place price. That big check is what's attractive about event like this. But I would cut the payout to 10% of the field and make the payout better. Who really cares if you win $700 for 30th place if you invested couple thousand to fish. I would rather see the top 10% - top 15 in this case get better checks. Like $20K 1st, $15K 2nd, $10K 3rd, $5K 4th and then down to $1K for 15th place.

80%? It should at least pay 100% of entry fees. What about all the sponsor money? Where does that go?
