I got one of those for my wife but instead of mounting it to the seat, I rigged it to an extended rod holder that mounts next to her seat. Works great!

Just don't forget that it is up and take off going full speed. Don't ask how I know about that situation.

Would that be the same type of thing as me trying to get the boat moving with the trolling bags still in the water. I know I scare myself sometimes!

PS. Boat does not like running with the bags in the water, bags are really tough though. I am assuming the umbrella was not speed rated?
