Default Humminbird 581i compatible with Lakemaster?

Cabela`s has the 581 avertised as compatible with the new Lakemaster Humminbird chip.

Humminbird says the the 581 works with navionics and says nothing about Lakemaster.

Anyone know if the 500 series Birds work with the new Lakemaster chips?

IF not does the Navionics hotmaps North cover the Great Lakes?

The 581 does not accept LakeMaster cards. The link below provides you with a list of what works with the LakeMaster for Humminbird cards.

The Navionics North Lake list is found here:

You may need to go with the coastal card (the 1xg card) this only covers the US side of the lakes.

Thank you,
Deborah @ Humminbird

Thumbs up Thank you Deb/Humminbird

Thanks for the info and your time here.
Its good to know that the eyes and ears of a company is here to help us out and sees the experiences we encounter with the product good and bad. Take what you learn back to the lab and you will always have the better mouse trap.
I really like the 581i and the customer service is great as well.
Will be looking at maps soon.
Thank you!
